15u OC Premier Weekly Recap-
The OCP team had a great early showing in the first four games going 3-2 and advanced into the top 32 as the 25th seed going into playoffs. The team however ran out of gas losing to PV Orioles in the first playoff game.
OCP vs Birds Black 12-6 Loss
The team went down early 12-0 before we answered with 6 runs in one inning. It was a rocky game with errors and walks from the defensive side of the ball. Alex King had two hits and Dean Watson had 2 rbi’s.
OCP vs AZ Athletics 7-1 Win
Carson Ambrose led the attack with 3 hits and dean Watson was 2-3 with 2 rbi’s. Ryan Taurek pitched 4 solid innings to get the win and Shcharber and King came in relief to lock it down.
OCP vs CBA Wave 7-1 Win
We gamed up against CBA today. We faced a hard throwing lefty that was been recruited by many schools this week and shell shocked him. OCP got out to a 5-0 lead early and Christian Ciufetelli pitched 5 solid innings with 6 k’s to get the win. Dean Watson and Alex King both had two hits and two rbi’s to lead the attack.
OCP vs GBG OC 8-0 Win
This was another tough battle early as we were tested against a highly recruited pitcher from Washington. Our guys stepped up and put runs on him early which knocked them down for the count. Jack Sampson went 5 strong innings with 6 k’s and helped himself out with two hits. Alex King and Grant Newton both had two hits and a couple rbi’s. Micheal Shcharber added a 2 rbi double.
OCP vs Pacific Baseball Academy 7-5 Loss
Pitching and Defense put us into a early hole down 3-0 before we decided to get the bats going. Carson Ambrose had two hits and Ryan taurek also added two hits on the day. We tied up the game in the 7th with a run scoring pass ball. The game went into extras and PBA took advantage of the California Tie Breaker scoring two runs while we got shut out. Michael Shcharber gave us 4 quality innings in relief.
OCP vs Playa Vista Orioles IE 6-1 Loss ( Top 32 game)
We faced a very good LHP from PV and he had our hitters shaking their head the whole game. we could not get a hit until the 6th inning before we finally scratched a run across in the 7th. They played a great game and we came up short.
OCP vs Norcal Baseball 10-8 Loss
After a long week and players going home we had a roster of 10 to compete in the final consolation game. We got off to a slow start giving up 6 runs early with very limited pitching left on the team for the week. The bats came alive and got with in one run later in the game 9-8 before they tacked on one more. Ryan Taurek and jake Provenzano both had two hits on the day while Ciufetelli added and rbi double.
