15u OC Premier Navy-
The team had a great week going 4-3 on the week with two tremendous walk of wins during the week. The team going into seeding missed the playoffs by two seeds. Please see below a detailed overview of the week.
OCP Navy vs JG Baseball 7-2 Win
Connor Clift and Dawson Gilbert both had two hits to lead the attack. Nathan Stella had the go ahead hit in the 7th. Camden Cougnet and Max Lyster threw 5 shutout innings.
OCP Navy vs CBA Rebels 5-4 Loss
The team had the lead for most of the game before giving it up with a couple crucial errors late in the game. The game went into extra innings before OCP ended up losing. Max Lyster went 4 solid innings after our starter struggled to throw strikes. Nathan Stella was 1-1 with 3 BB’s.
OCP Navy vs SD Ducks 8-7 Loss
This game was the game that we look back and kick ourself in the butt. The loss in this game definitely knocked us out of the possible playoff round. The team had a 7-1 lead before surrendering 7 unanswered runs to fall short. Again we had some costly errors that led to bog innings along with a poor pitching performance of throwing strikes.
OCP Navy vs CBA Wave 8-7 Win
OCP battled back in this game to earn a walk off win. Connor Clift was 3-3 with 3 rbi’s and Otto Kemp was 4-4 with the walk off hit. The team got two out in the 7th before they had three consecutive hits to win the game. Troy melton came in to shut the door for 4 2/3 innings of solid relief after Camden Cougnet came out of the game with an injury. What an effort by everyone in this game.
OCP Navy vs SC NTT Renegades 9-8 Win
OCP earned a second consecutive walk off win today. The team was down by 3 runs and two outs going into the last inning. OCP then got two runners on via the walk before COnnor CLift hit a 3 run inside the park homerun to tie the game. In the 8th both teams scored one run and then OCP took over in the 9th capitalizing on a Renegades error. Troy melton had the walk off Sac Fly to win the ball game. Nathan Stella and Connor Craig threw 7 1/3 innings of 1 run ball.
OCP Navy vs Birds Black 11-5 Loss
Tyler Mills was the only bright spot on this game getting 4 hits for OCP. The Birds offensive attack was too much for OCP this game.
OCP Navy vs Adam Kennedy LA 15-4 Win
In the last consolation game the team brought out their bats knocking out 14 hits. Dawson Gilbert had 3 hits and 4 rbis. Camden Cougnet had 2 hits and 4 rbis. Otto Kemp had 2 doubles and 2 rbi’s. The pitchers did a quality job giving us innings after a long week.
