We had a great showing here at the 14u USA West Championships. Let’s start off by saying our program is all about trying to get players recognition and being noticed. This week we had a catcher for the second year receive a invitation letter identifying a potential prospect for the 14u NTDP USA Team. Congrats to Emilio Morales. He worked his butt off all week and I proud of him.
Week Recap-
5-2 Win vs Arizona Sandlot –
Joey Estes and Peyton Demetre held the team to 2 runs over 7 innings. / Connor Clift was 2-3 with a 2 run 3b and Aaron Casillas played outstanding SS and had two hits.
9-7 Loss vs Trombly Baseball-
Pitching and Defense struggled for us this game allowing 5 unearned runs. / Daniel Lee had two hits and Emilio Morales had two RBI’s
9-0 Win vs Gorillas Baseball-
Charles Acker went 2 Innings and Jacob major went 5 innings to shutout the Gorillas. Connor Clift and Daniel lee both had two hits.
3-0 Win vs SD Show Black-
Blake Archuleta had to come in clutch this game for us to advance to the playoffs. That he did!!! Blake went complete game shutout with 5 K’s. Connor Clift had two hits and Micheal Curialle had the big 2 run single that proved to be enough. I also want to note that Ricky Lane made the play of the day back picking a runner at 1b that turned the whole inning around.
3-2 Loss vs BPA Demarini Blue-
This was a tough loss! Pitching and defense wins championships and we did not do that today. we made 4 huge errors and walked 6 batters in the game. We went out with a 2 run lead early and could not punch anymore across the plate as BPA slowly chipped away to take the 3-2 leave which proved to be enough.
10-7 Loss vs GBG Renegades-
We drive to Arizona to play one of our local rivals. Gotta love it!! IN this game we batted the roster and we stung the ball real well. The hitting attack was led by Connor Clift/Jacob Major/ Jacob Cochran all of whom had two hits a piece. The defense however was let done in this game. As a group we made 3 errors and walked 6 batters which led to 3 unearned runs.
